Inflatables on the market street, Nakamise-dori, in front of the Senso-ji Temple.
Fake pink, plastic cherry blossoms.
Japanese pancakes.
Senso-ji Temple.
Crowded hot day.
Street seafood.
Bathing in smoke.
Ceiling of inside the temple.
Monkey.
There were like fifty street vendors around the temple. Selling everything from Korean style food to chocolate covered bananas.
Asakusa Shrine behind Senso-ji Temple.
Instructions how to drink from the fountains. Another ritual done outside all the temples.
Street graphics.
This shrine I came upon looking for Yanka Cemetery. It had row after row of these damaged statues. This was the only place someone came and told me not to photograph. So, I walked around with my camera in my hand snapping pictures. I really liked how they turned out. The angles are interesting.
Yanka Cemetery.
The crows in Japan are the size of Hawks This one was looming around the cemetery.
Maybe it keeps all the information for all diets ever created: SOuth Beach, Atkins, Weight Watchers, etc.
Lolli, lolli, lollipops.
Shrines in Ueno Park.
This old guy's hair is like a shark fin. I love his suspenders.
Ameyayokocho shopping street. This street is more of a food market street, cheap clothing and cleaning and beauty products. You can buy anything from fish roe to hairspray. The street was so packed at one point I wasn't even walking I was just being pushed forward by the crowd. Not great for my claustrophobicness.
All fruit in Japan is ridiculously expensive. That price converts to about ten US dollars.
500=$5.00 1000=$10.00
Akihabara (Electric Town)
I love these trees. They have the sterotypical shape of evergreens, but they have leaves.
On the sidewalk, just to remind you where you are... Electric Town.
