These are signs I encountered walking through the streets of Tokyo. Like Korea they use cartoons to illustrate everything and most signs are a combination of English and Japanese. I just love all the use of colors in their signs and the randomness of pictures used.
This is a big convenience store chain.
These were in the sidewalks on a lot of streets.
The Japanese are obsessed with small dogs. There are designer dog clothing stores, they are stuffed in bags and used frequently in signs that have nothing to do with dogs.
Random store in the middle of Akihabara (Electric Town).
I love these illustrations for the sushi in the restaurant.
This was one of my favorite signs. I just don't understand.
A cartoon added to the bus route sign for no apparent reason other then it is just embedded in their culture.
Dry cleaners.
Pebble mural.
